L.I.T. AND HÖLKEMEIER SPEDITION
BUNDLE COMPETENCIES

Driving the internationalization of the two
logistics companies together in the future:
Axel Schleef, L.I.T. Gruppe,
and Lars Hölkemeier, Hölkemeier Spedition

The L.I.T. Group integrates Hölkemeier Spedition GmbH, based in Minden and with branches in Porta Westfalica, Bad Oeynhausen and Vlotho, into the group of companies. The two companies are now pooling their expertise to jointly drive national and international growth. The L.I.T. Group is also strengthening its presence in East Westphalia and expanding its transport and logistics network there. The logistics specialist has had a branch in Minden for 30 years. Spedition Hölkemeier will continue to operate under its own name and with its proven team as an independent business unit of the L.I.T. Group.

"Thanks to the cooperation with the L.I.T. Group, we are now in a position to conquer international markets."

Lars Hölkemeier,
Managing Director of Hölkemeier Spedition GmbH

“So far, we have gained customers at a regional level in particular. Thanks to the cooperation with the L.I.T. Group, we are now in a position to conquer international markets,” says Lars Hölkemeier, Managing Director of Hölkemeier Spedition GmbH, who will continue to hold this position in the future. Axel Schleef, who also works as Operations Manager at L.I.T. Lager & Logistik GmbH, is now his second Managing Director.

Hölkemeier’s core business remains warehousing and the transportation of part and full loads, especially for companies in the sanitary/heating/air-conditioning, steel, mechanical engineering and trade sectors. The aim of both companies is now to expand the customer base in these sectors, as Axel Schleef explains: “The cooperation brings synergy effects, from which the customers in particular will benefit. By expanding our service portfolio to include air and sea freight, for example, we are also becoming increasingly attractive for international companies from the HVAC, steel, mechanical engineering and trade sectors.” The forwarding company contributes 100,000 square meters of logistics space, tractor units, swap body vehicles and around 60 trailers to the L.I.T. Group.

L.I.T. also moved into a new office building in Minden at the beginning of the year to accommodate its growth in East Westphalia. The 1,000 square meter complex on Magdeburger Strasse in the Päpinghausen industrial estate has space for up to 70 of the company’s employees. A major advantage of the new location is its proximity to the RegioPort Weser container port with connections to shipping, rail and truck traffic. In addition, the headquarters of Hölkemeier Spedition are located in the immediate vicinity.
