NEW TRAINING YEAR

37 YOUNG TALENTS JOIN THE L.I.T. GROUP

The L.I.T. Group welcomes 37 new junior staff members with a joint day at its headquarters in Brake (Unterweser).

Brake (Unterweser)

On Monday, the L.I.T. Group’s Executive Board welcomed 37 new trainees on their first day of training. Twenty-one prospective freight forwarding and logistics service clerks, seven warehouse logistics specialists, three professional drivers, two office management clerks, one human resources clerk, one IT specialist for application development, one for system development and one dual student in the »Business Administration in Practice« programme are starting their professional careers with the logistics specialist. All new recruits will first undergo a two-day induction at the company’s headquarters in Brake before beginning their practical training at one of the 26 L.I.T. training locations in Germany.

»Even though the general decline in trainees poses a challenge for many companies, we were once again able to fill all our training positions. And we did so with applicants who impressed us with their strong performance«, says Melanie Kalla, HR Officer for Training at the L.I.T. Group.

She adds: »This shows that we remain an attractive training company and consistently guarantee high-quality training. We are particularly pleased that two of our graduates achieved a grade of »very good« in their exams this year. The office management assistant and the freight forwarding and logistics services clerk are among the few to be honoured by the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. This is wonderful proof of what is possible with us.« Today, 36 trainees and one dual student started their professional future at the L.I.T. Group. This means that the number of young professionals remains at a stable level. A total of around 137 young talents are currently completing their training at the logistics company.

TWO-DAY INTRODUCTORY PROGRAMME
The new trainees start with two days together at the headquarters in Brake. Board members Fokke Fels, Simeon Breuer, Julian Lachnitt and Ingo Schreiber welcomed the newcomers together with the training team and introduced them to the operational structures and company-specific systems.

The first day, known as »Welcome Day«, was organised by third-year trainees, who helped the newcomers get to know each other as well as the group of companies and the various departments. The programme included a tour of the L.I.T. trainee truck, icebreaker games and a joint lunch. This concept supports the new trainees in their exciting start to their professional lives and was awarded third place by the Nordwest Mediengruppe in 2024 as part of the Prize for Innovative Training (PIA).

On the second day, the new junior staff undergo important basic training, including IT and telephone training and an introduction to quality management.

TART AT 26 LOCATIONS WITH PERSONAL SUPPORT
After the introductory days, the new trainees begin their training at a total of 26 locations of the logistics company. They are supported by a proven mentoring programme. Nele Grenzebach, HR Officer for Training, explains: »Before the training begins, all new entrants are assigned a personal contact from the second year of training who accompanies them during the first two months of the familiarisation process. This helps the trainees find their feet in the company much more quickly.«

L.I.T. is still accepting applications even after the start of training. Training positions are currently available for freight forwarding and logistics services clerks in Norden, Polch and Stavenhagen.
