WESTFALIA intralog GmbH is now operating under the L.I.T. banner. The former subsidiary of SULO Deutschland GmbH has been part of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH since August 1, 2021. With this acquisition by the Lower Saxony-based logistics service provider, the two transport companies intend to bundle their resources in the swap body business. WESTFALIA intralog will continue to operate under its own name and with its proven team as an independent business unit of L.I.T. Gruppe. Cooperation with the SULO Gruppe will continue within the framework of a multi-year contract.

Speditions GmbH and member of the Board of L.I.T. AG. Dirk Schröder, Managing Director of WESTFALIA intralog GmbH, also sees a perfect match between the two companies: "By utilizing synergy effects, we, together with L.I.T., possess significant impact in the field of swap body logistics."
WESTFALIA intralog was founded in 1983 as the internal shipping department of the former SULO Eisenwerke GmbH & Co. KG and has since experienced remarkable development. As early as 1984, the logistics company from Herford began acquiring external customers and, over the following decades, developed into one of the leading providers of jumbo swap body logistics in Germany. Most recently, WESTFALIA intralog employed 77 people at five locations: in Essen, Lohr am Main, Tettau (Upper Franconia), Momignies in Belgium (Province of Hainaut), and Herford.
According to Schröder, the decision to separate from the SULO Gruppe was viewed by both sides as strategically logical. The spin-off from the waste disposal company opens up new development opportunities for the freight forwarding company as well as a refocusing on its core competence: logistics. "WESTFALIA intralog has reached a point where the resources of a pioneering freight forwarder like L.I.T. promise to give us new impetus," says Schröder. The transport company's approximately 1,000 swap bodies will supplement the current stock of L.I.T. Gruppe, which is already twice as large. The 38-year partnership with SULO Deutschland will continue seamlessly as part of a multi-year contract.
