L.I.T. AND HÖLKEMEIER SPEDITION POOL THEIR EXPERTISE

Driving the internationalization of both
logistics companies forward together:
Axel Schleef, L.I.T. Gruppe,
and Lars Hölkemeier, Hölkemeier Spedition

The L.I.T. Gruppe is integrating the Hölkemeier Spedition GmbH, based in Minden with branches in Porta Westfalica, Bad Oeynhausen, and Vlotho, into the corporate group. Both companies are now pooling their expertise to jointly drive national and international growth. The L.I.T. Gruppe is also strengthening its presence in East Westphalia and expanding its Transport Logistics network there. The logistics specialist has already been represented with a branch in Minden for 30 years. Hölkemeier Spedition will continue to operate under its own name and with its proven team as an independent business unit of the L.I.T. Gruppe.

“Up until now, we have primarily acquired customers at a regional level. Through our cooperation with the L.I.T. Gruppe, we are now in a position to conquer international markets,” says Lars Hölkemeier, Managing Director of Hölkemeier Spedition GmbH, who will continue to hold this position in the future. He is now supported by a second Managing Director, Axel Schleef, who serves, among other roles, as Operational Manager at L.I.T. Lager & Logistik GmbH.

Hölkemeier’s core business remains warehousing and the transport of partial and full loads, particularly for companies in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), steel, mechanical engineering, and trade sectors. The goal of both companies is now to expand the customer base in these industries, as Axel Schleef explains: “The cooperation brings with it synergy effects from which the customers benefit most. By expanding our service portfolio to include, for example, air and sea freight, we will become increasingly attractive to international companies in the HVAC, steel, mechanical engineering, and trade sectors.” The forwarding company contributes 100,000 square meters of logistics space, tractor units, swap body vehicles, and around 60 trailers to the L.I.T. Gruppe.

To account for the growth trajectory in East Westphalia, L.I.T. also moved into a new office building in Minden at the beginning of the year. The 1,000-square-meter complex on Magdeburger Straße in the Päpinghausen industrial estate provides space for up to 70 of the company’s employees. A major advantage of the new location is its proximity to the RegioPort Weser container terminal, with connections to shipping, rail, and road traffic. Furthermore, the headquarters of Hölkemeier Spedition is located in the immediate vicinity.
