L.I.T. AG RECEIVES QUALITY SEAL FROM THE NIEDERSACHSEN ALLIANZ FÜR NACHHALTIGKEIT

Torben Kokott (r.) from the IHK Oldenburg presents the "Wir sind dabei." quality seal of the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit to L.I.T. board member Simeon Breuer.

Award for years of commitment to the environment: L.I.T. AG has received the quality label from the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit. With this, the alliance of business and politics recognizes the projects implemented by the Brake-based company regarding ecological, social, and economic sustainability. The certificate is valid for five years and continues the Green Logistics strategy of L.I.T. One year ago, the transport service provider was already awarded the Lean & Green 1st Star for the reduction of its greenhouse gas emissions.

"For us, 'sustainability' is not simply a buzzword that is currently trending. It is a matter close to our hearts. Therefore, we are very proud that our efforts are being recognized by the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit," says a pleased Simeon Breuer, board member of L.I.T. AG. The cooperation between the Lower Saxony state government, business associations, trade unions, and chambers evaluates the areas of ecological, social, and economic sustainability of companies when awarding the quality seal. Torben Kokott, Environment and Energy Consultant at the IHK Oldenburg, which belongs to the alliance, knows: "Companies that operate sustainably are more successful in the long term, have satisfied employees, and a better image." At the beginning of July, he presented L.I.T. with the certificate marked "Wir sind dabei." (We are part of it). For the next five years, the Brake-based logistics service provider is now part of the Lower Saxony sustainability alliance.

For years, L.I.T. Gruppe has been pursuing a sustainability strategy. For instance, L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and L.I.T. Cargo GmbH were already awarded the Lean & Green 1st Star in 2020 for reducing their ecological footprint. By converting part of the vehicle fleet to ultra-light vehicles, using a specially programmed app to reduce empty and detour kilometers, and implementing innovative intermodal concepts, the two subsidiaries even exceeded the campaign target of 20 percent fewer CO2 emissions within five years by 1.7 percent. Solar panels on company roofs, certified environmental management according to DIN EN ISO 14001, and a meadow orchard in the Wesermarsch district also contribute to the environmental protection efforts of L.I.T. AG.

"With the new quality seal from the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit, our measures certainly do not stop. Now, further sustainability projects must be developed and initiated, which, in addition to a social aspect, continue to contribute to CO2 savings," says Simeon Breuer. To achieve this goal, the corporate group relies on collaborative cooperation across all its divisions and has established a sustainability working group.
