\r\n\r\nThe Next Hub in the European Multimodal Transport Network: The L.I.T. Group is expanding into Scandinavia for the first time and has founded L.I.T. Nordics Oy. The Finnish company is based in the port city of Turku, located in the southwest of the country. With its infrastructure, Turku offers diverse opportunities for cargo handling and storage. The combination of sea, road, and rail transport enables flexible and cost-efficient transportation solutions. The new L.I.T. entity will offer services including partial and full truckloads as well as temperature-controlled transportation. L.I.T. Nordics Oy will operate as an asset-based capacity provider, utilizing established and robust ferry routes and rail connections to best meet the needs of customers. Ibro Salkanovic will serve as Managing Director. Nordics Oy is to establish a multimodal network of rail and ferry connections between the Nordic and Baltic countries and the rest of Europe, with the aim of developing an efficient and sustainable provider of freight transport services,” says Klaas Lange, Business Development at L.I.T. Speditions GmbH. The company is strategically located in the port of Turku, Finland\u2019s oldest city. All routes will feature megatrailers, which can carry up to 25 tons of payload, compared to standard containers. The advantages over traditional truck transport include reduced CO2 emissions, higher payload per transport unit, and improved social conditions for truck drivers. Ibro Salkanovic, Managing Director of L.I.T. Nordics Oy, says: “By using megatrailers, we need fewer truck drivers to transport the same amount of goods. This reduces the workload for our colleagues and leads to higher job satisfaction.” The medium-term goal of L.I.T. is to implement its own dedicated trains.\r\n\r\nL.I.T. as a financially stable and innovative partner<\/strong>\r\nIn the event of disruptions in rail freight transport, L.I.T.’s extensive truck fleet can be utilized. Klaas Lange says: “With our direct trucks, we can maintain our customers’ supply chains even in case of network disruptions. L.I.T. will be a financially stable and innovative partner for its customers, shaping the future of multimodal transport together.” He adds: “In this way, L.I.T. will soon be able to offer its customers a comprehensive multimodal network with megatrailers connecting Scandinavia, the Baltic States, the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Benelux.”\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
