FULLY CONNECTED FROM DAY ONE

L.I.T. IMPLEMENTS INTENSIVE WEEK OF TRAINING

For an even more determined promotion of young talent, the L.I.T. Group goes new ways. The company has implemented an intensive training week for young professionals into its training program. The aim of the new format is to give the youngsters an insight into the L.I.T. Group, to get to know the trainees across all locations and to network more closely. The program includes, among other things, direct exchange with the management as well as learning important soft skills and practical tips for daily work. In addition to workshops, lectures and project work, professional coaching and team building events such as a visit to the escape room are program.

During the training week, our trainees come into direct contact with the management

»Flat hierarchies are not just empty words for us. During the training week, our trainees come into direct contact with the management, can ask questions and make suggestions,« says Astrid Jonat, training manager at L.I.T. AG. The management of the logistics service provider is actively involved in the new concept and presented the individual business areas (transport logistics, contract logistics, fleet and driver management, personnel logistics and the tasks of the L.I.T. AG Administration) to the junior staff. This gives the trainees an extensive insight into the company – including areas that they do not come into contact with during their training. For Lisa Schau, a trainee for freight forwarding and logistics services, this is an important good point: »I really think it’s great that the training week is not just a frontal teaching lesson. Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH, for example, went outside with us and asked for our knowledge in the field of geography / navigation (our locations) in a very practice-oriented way. Ingo Schreiber, Managing Director of L.I.T. Cargo GmbH, showed us the individual vehicle types including trailer variants and explained what happens at the workshop. That is something special and shows importance of training and us trainees at L.I.T.«

Another highlight was the visit at the L.I.T. Logistics Park in the Bremen Freight Transport Center. In the L.I.T. Logistics Center LLC 4, the logistics service provider has installed an AutoStore system. With the support of the AutoStore robots, a large part of the tasks for the e-commerce area can be processed efficiently and quickly. Jonat: »Our trainees were coached by an external training institute and internal specialists from day one.« Topics such as the basics of presentation and communication techniques, conflict and time management as well as cost and performance accounting were on the agenda.

In project groups, each mentored by an experienced L.I.T. employee, the trainees had to use their new skills. Topics such as intermodal transport, alternative drives and internationalization of the driving staff were dealt with. At the end of the training week, they presented their ideas and solutions for these current challenges in front of all participants and the management – including Fokke Fels, CEO of L.I.T. AG. He emphasizes: »We are enthusiastic about the commitment, creativity and presentation of the individual groups. The quality of the work is impressive! This year’s participants have shown what can be possible in one week.« At the planned team event in the Escape Room, this networking occurs quite uncomplicated in a relaxed atmosphere.

Do you want to take part next time? We look forward to you!
